Father and Son (2013)

Father and Son is the concluding result of the Kinetic Image Frame Project and my final MFA Thesis statement. It is about the unique relationship that can exist between father and son due to emotional distance. These feelings and situations are commonly repeated once the son becomes a father, and the same relationship exists yet again.

This circle of life is represented with a metaphorical hourglass that uses motion graphics and kinetic movement together by animating the word “Father” into the word “Son.” Sensors and data communication allow the hourglass to turn over once the “Father” portion runs out, and the “Son” becomes the father. This final statement describes my own relationship with my father and possibly with my son in the future.
